My name is Rakesh Satyal, and I hail from Biratnagar, a picturesque city located in eastern Nepal. I have attained a Master of Science degree in Mathematics with Applications from Tribhuvan University and have previously served as Chief Executive Officer at Annapurna Aroma Company Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal. Since then, my focus has been on conducting research on essential oils. My aspiration to continue my education and expand my knowledge prompted me to engage in Analytica Research Center Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal, where I focused on the field of essential oil research.
Throughout my study and professional career, I have researched over 10,000 essential oils from different parts of the world and have published over 7 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. As an editorial member of multiple journals, my focus has been on identifying essential oil adulteration through marker-based analysis, for which I created the sole mass spectral library of synthetic markers and database of essential oils. I have delivered presentations at more than ten esteemed international conferences.
Currently, I am working in creating the world's largest essential oil database and in developing the first ever fully automated adulteration analysis software for GCMS that will identify the percentage of purity, origin, and mixed sources in essential oils. I am sure, my research and experience will take the entire essential oil field into the new era.
As a researcher at the ARC, I am deeply interested in the development and utilization of mathematical and computational techniques to explore the chemical makeup of plant constituents. My ultimate aim is to further identify and understand the unidentified constituents of natural product chemistry by creating realistic mathematical and computational models, which can be tested and refined using real-time GC-MS data and other experimental data, ultimately resulting in experimentally verifiable auto authentication software.
